Amoy.
I beg most respectfully to bring to your notice that on the latter end of November 1863 being forced to seek shelter in Formosa I put into Lee Loo Bay having lost some of my spare ... on my voyage.
After anchoring & received information from my supercargo that 4 Cantonese boats also anchored here were piratical Vessels and if I did not immediately leave I should be attacked.
